Under the Manhattan

Last night I decided I wanted to shoot the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges from cool perspectives around Dumbo, NY.  I arrived and scouted around, taking shots here and there, but nothing really stood out to me.  Finally, I got to the water’s edge and carefully stepped my way around the bend to get here.  My 14-24mm wide angle came in handy when I was trying to squeeze the massive bridge in to the scene.  I decided to go black and white to highlight the numerous contrasting areas and also just because it looked really cool this way :)

I will be heading to Chile beginning Monday.  After spending a week in Santiago, we’ll most likely head south for another  2 weeks.  Any recommendations that might not be in the tourist books?

Do you have Instagram?? I just got my new phone and will be documenting Chile for the next three weeks (as well as everywhere else I go).  Connect with me @ http://instagram.com/catchthejiffy.
