Hong Kong from the Peak

Talk about crowds… I was shocked when I arrived in Hong Kong yesterday.  There are so many people in this city!  It was a bit weird at first seeing so many Westerners after having trekked through small Chinese cities for the past week and a half, where my ugly mug was the only white one around.  A nice change of scenery before returning to China.

Tomorrow I am heading to Macau for the day.  Most of you probably haven’t even heard of Macau.  It is a Special Administrative Region of China, just like Hong Kong.  Best known for Casinos (The most recent Bond movie was filmed there), there are also some fantastic things to see, including beautiful Portuguese architecture.  Stay tuned!

Today I went up to Victoria Peak to photograph Hong Kong’s skyline at night.  Boy was it crowded… The wait for the funicular back down was over an hour and a half!  I jumped on the bus instead.  If you ever visit Hong kong, you must take the trip up to Victoria Peak and gaze upon this futuristic city at night.  Feel free to click the photo so you can see all the detail.

Feel free to follow me on Facebook if you haven’t already, http://facebook.com/adam.allegro.  I post more regularly there than on the blog, as well as all the Instagram photos I take.  Thanks and enjoy!

Well I would have to say that shot was definitely worth battling the crowds and the wait time. What a spectacular view!! What incredible memories you are making :).

This is just stunning Adam. I’ve been to Hong Kong and the you describe it tells me it hasn’t changed a bit. We took the hydrofoil to Macau and it is amazing. You’ll love it.

Stunning as usual Adam, keep enjoying your travels.
