Only a couple more days in Shanghai before I begin to head south. Today I am heading out to Zhu Jia Jiao, a water/canal town about an hour out of Shanghai. Hopefully I can take some nice photos to share with you!
I was successful in getting my Vietnamese Passport yesterday. If you are ever in Shanghai and need to get one yourself, here are some tips:
Vietnam consulate in Shanghai
900 Pudong Da Dao, 3rd Floor, Room 304 Pudong
Tel: 6855 5871
Take the metro to the Pudong Exit, get off the metro and either walk East for 15 minutes or pay the $2 for a cab.
Once you get there you fill out the standard application form, and need to provide a host address. I didn’t have one so the lady behind the counter told me to just put anything down. So, after finding something, I turned in my docs and paid the money – You must pay cash. I think it came out to around $100 US, since I got multiple entries for one month, expedited. 4 hours later I returned to the consulate to pick up my passport with my new Vietnamese Visa. It was pretty simple.
So, it looks like I will be entering Vietnam on February 4th, and staying for 30 days. Chinese New Year starts on February 8th, so I am thinking of spending a few days during the festival in Hanoi. If anyone is going to be in Vietnam during Feb get in touch with me!
Today I wanted to share a few street portraits from Shanghai and Suzhou with you. These opportunities are literally everywhere you look, so having the camera ready at all times is a must Enjoy!
Thanks for visiting! Check back tomorrow!
