Braving the elements, I set out through the pouring rain on a path unknown to a storied waterfall in the forest. Getting stuck in barbed wire (fact), slipping on the slick rocks, climbing and descending steep terrain, and maneuvering through flooded wetlands and forgotten spider webs, I found myself at this location, all alone.
Peering up through the pouring rain at the sun, whose light was barely peeking out from behind the clouds, sparked a peaceful, dream-like feeling in my mind, one which is expressed in the photo below.
Sometimes when the rain is too heavy to keep off your lens, and the environment seems to conspire against you taking a sharp, properly executed photo, just go with the flow and create….
After shooting and cleaning and shooting and cleaning, I decided to just plop down on a nearby rock and observe. Opening my mind to the surrounding environment, I was treated too heightened senses, a spiderman-esque state if you will
I noticed scurrying rodents and lizards going about their business, fish jumping in the connecting river, far off exotic bird calls, creepy crawling centipedes, ants carrying leaves 40 times their own weight, rustling leaves being nourished by the rain. The sound of the surrounding waterfalls was something magical in and of itself, adding to the dream-like state I was already happily trapped in.
Llano De Cortez Waterfall, Costa Rica.
Thanks for visiting! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

Wow cool spot. As photographers we sometimes have to brave the elements and take what mother nature gives us. Well done Adam.
