Have you ever been in a situation where there is only a finite amount of time you have to accomplish something, and as hard as you try, you continue to fail?? sunsets are like that sometimes for us photographers. As hard as I tried, I just could not seem to find access to a beach to catch the sunset one night in Papagayo, Costa Rica.
I could tell it was going to be an amazing sunset, and set off about an hour before to locate a beach that one of the locals told me about. After getting kicked off of the 4 Seasons property, hitting multiple dead ends, and being sent packing by two other private “resorts”, I was at a loss.
At wit’s end and exhausted from speeding around, I gave up – just as I looked away from the setting sun and saw the below view on the opposite horizon, behind the golf course. At the same time, my mom was trespassing on some multimillionaire’s property, discovering the view you see in the bottom photo.
Looking back, I suppose the evening was not a complete loss. :)
By the way, next time you visit Costa Rica and are in search of a great fishing charter and eco-tourism service, check out Crocodile Bay Resort . Although I did not get a chance to try them out this time, I have had numerous people point me in their direction and have heard nothing but praise for their services and professionalism. Enjoy!

That is one killer reflection Adam. I love looking away from sunsets as they really provide scenes like this one.
Amazing shot, Adam. LOL The other places ran you off to something great, well worth the effort, man. The sky in these shots is really outstanding and that reflection in the first image… superb.
