Arnel’s Misty Mountains

What a fantastic start to our Costa Rican Adventure.  We are taking horses through the jungle to a waterfall in a few minutes so I will make this brief!

Yesterday we took a wonderful sunset hike through Arnel Volcano National Park.  We finished the hike at this majestic overlook, a 360 degree view spanning around us.  I couldn’t take my eyes off the fast-moving fog in the surrounding hills.  All of the land you see in the photo below was rigidly formed this way in 1968 when Arnel last erupted!

I can’t show you a black and white image without mentioning how awesome Nik Software’s Silver Efex Pro is.  Now you can save 15% on every product they offer by accessing the Nik site here!  You can even download and try it for free for a while!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Nice monochrome, Adam. Great texture and contrasts. And as you said, that Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 software is fantastic. I’ve been using it almost daily.

  8. Excellent image Adam. You B&W conversion has brought out the contrast between the trees and the mist in the valleys perfectly.
