Three Shooters

As much as I love shooting landscapes, cityscapes, and seascapes, I also enjoy taking photos of other people (especially photographers.  I don’t know, I’m a weird one…).  Yesterday evening on my way home from the Los Angeles Regional VA office, some beautiful looking clouds were forming over the coast, about 90 minutes before sunset.  When I got home, I grabbed my gear, found some old basketball shoes (for wading in the waves) and took off for El Matador Beach in Malibu, CA.

Boy did I pick a good night to shoot… One of the prettiest sunsets I have seen.  I have lots more photos to share, but today I wanted to post this shot, containing the other three photographers there that night.  About 15 minutes after I shot this, I unknowingly walked right in front of one of them while they were shooting long exposures.  Needless to say, I am so used to shooting alone that I need to brush up on my “photographer’s etiquette” and pay more attention to my fellow photographers field of view :)

All turned out well and I think the other shooters got some beautiful captures as well.  All were very nice guys and I hope we end up keeping in touch!

Wow! That’s a gorgeous sunset Adam! Nice capture!

  2. Amazing sunset Adam. Not a bad way to meet some other photographers.

  3. This makes me smile – such a typical ‘behind the scenes’ scene at a photogenic location at sunset!

  4. mark says:

Yeah cool shot, I suppose its one way to meet people.

  5. Mark Neal says:

Love that sunset and the floppy hats, Adam. I’ve got one just like those. Thought only old guys like me wore them.

  6. Edith Levy says:

Looks like it was a beautiful evening. Looking forward to seeing more of your images from that night.

  7. LensScaper says:

Fantastic sunset, Adam. The presence of the three fellow photographers makes this already great shot a fantastic one. Those Hats are so cool – especially helpful for the guy in the shade. Take the hats away and you lose something that is actually, in my mind, critical to the overall success of this shot. Well done, Adam. This should sell well.
