I hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend! I am catching up with some good friends in LA this weekend; I forgot how much I love this city.
Today I wanted to share a photo that I took while visiting my friend Kha in Strasbourg, France. After a fantastic sunset over Strasbourg’s canals, and an even more amazing Vietnamese dinner in the city center, we walked over to the Notre Dame Cathedral to watch the light show. This is a pretty amazing display that the city puts on nightly. When you stroll up to the cathedral you are floored by the sheer size and intricate details throughout. I had a chance to climb the tower earlier in the day but I will share that experience for a different post.
Every 30 minutes, all of the surrounding lights around the cathedral go dim and the neatest display of colors commences. Almost any color combination you could imagine is thrown up on the face of the cathedral, the beautifully ornate Rose Window lighted perfectly from inside. Once I set up my rig I began shooting some long exposures. The photo below was my favorite, and will give you an idea of just how amazing this little display is.
If you haven’t subscribed to the blog, I invite you to do so on the upper right – who knows, you might be drawn as this Monday’s winner, allowing you to choose any 2 prints you like! Good luck and enjoy!
Thanks for visiting!

Fantastic display, i didn’t know they did that.

Really beautiful colors!
Cool shot and definitely something worth seeing. Thanks Adam.
Wonderful perspective and processing. Viewing this drops you right into the scene.
Thanks for showing this fantastic shot. It brings back memories of several times I´ve visited Strasbourg. With this long time exposure you´ve captured the mood of Strasbourg at night very well. In my opinion it´s an amazing photograph.
