Last week while out-processing from the Navy, I had the opportunity to visit First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. In addition to the beautiful, lush forest filled with fantastic trails, the park grounds include some awesome sand dunes which sit right off the beach. As I was packing up my gear after shooting the sunset, I noticed some movement to my right. When I glanced over I saw huge sand crab. Being very stubborn and persistent, I began following my new friend around for about 20 minutes, clicking over 75 shots. The photo below was taken only inches away from the little crustacean using my wide-angle lens. Of the bunch, this shot is by far my favorite. You can see a little sliver of sky, as well as an old wooden viewing platform in the background. What do you think? Would you take him home??
Thanks for visiting! Have a great holiday weekend!

Great POV, neat coloured crab, don’t think I would take him home though.

Lovely shot, Adam! I don’t know he seems so comfy where he is, I wouldn’t want to change that!
