LARC-V in Fort Story

After what seems like forever, I am safely back in California writing my first blog post from my brand new Macbook.  This Retina Display thing is no joke; serious detail seeping out of this little 15 inch screen…

Today I want to share a pair of images from my little Norfolk, Virginia purgatory last week.  I tried to get out as much as I could to capture the Hampton Roads area, competing with rain and thunderstorms, and ended up coming away with a nice little collection.

The vehicle below is a LARC-V, which sits on static display in Fort Story. The LARC-V is an aluminium-hulled amphibious cargo vehicle capable of transporting up to 5 tons. It was developed in the US during the 1950s and is used in a variety of auxiliary roles to this day.

Thanks for visiting!  Check back tomorrow!
