Thanks for all the comments on yesterday’s post about my favorite Tuscan Vineyard!
Only a few more days until the weekend and I am welcoming the free time. By the way, I just started George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones and all I can say is WOW. If you are looking for an awesome series to pass the time, start reading A Song of Ice and Fire.
Today I wanted to show you that street portraits during your travels are easy to come by. Sometimes all it takes is a smile and that photographer’s “its OK to take a photo of you?” look, and you’re golden. This nice old man was selling Boza on the street corner during our trekking in Istanbul a couple of weeks back. Boza is a fermented wheat or millet drink with a very low alcohol percentage. It looks pretty much just like egg nog, but tastes much, much better. Just what was needed on a brisk day exploring the city. Maybe he will see this one day, and I hope he does. This reminds me; one of the pictures I took a couple of months ago of a fisherman coming in from the day’s outing on the small island of Procida was recognized by the guy’s son on this blog! I need to write the guy back – maybe make another trip out there, but that was a really neat feeling. Anyways, enjoy!!
Thanks for visiting!

Wonderful portrait, Adam. The B&W treatment makes this timeless. I like the tight crop as well.

Sweet portrait man. I was looking into starting up that series again. I know the new one just came out last year a few months back I think. Amazingly enough it didn’t get very good reviews.
Honestly, I am waiting for the next Dark Tower book – on pre order! – from Stephen King. They need to bring on the movies already!
I love that quizzical look. Well framed too.

Wonderful street portrait, not a candid but not really posed either. Great expression and perfect tight composition. One to be proud of, Adam!

What a stunning portrait this is Adam.
You have captured so much character here.
He looks like he has a really warm face and really sweet smile (smirk?). But i really love this intimate portrait. I hope to see more portraits from you, Adam!
