Yesterday we took a little detour from our lazy weekend, stopping by the Colusseum in Pozzuoli for some pictures. I have been here for 2 years now and still hadn’t visited this thing until yesterday. My mother is finishing up a well deserved post-retirement trip around Europe and served as an excellent “photo assistant” while shooting. I have tons of shots I need to process, but so far am in love woth this one. All over the “basement” of the amphitheatre there were these intoxicating rays of light. After kicking up some dust (and throwing some around the room – a great tip if you want to visually intensify light rays), I began to shoot all the rooms I could. I will most definitely be coming back here, especially because the light is so amazing mid-day. Anyways, after processing this one, I wanted to see how it would look going through Silver Efex. Which do you like better??

and the B&W…
Thanks for visiting!!

Nice shots. I’m torn between the two though, I’m a sucker for color so I like the first one. I also love the textures in your B&W. Awesome!!
Oh no fair Adam…I can’t choose. Both are absolutely awesome shots. I love the light rays and this room. I’m normally a real sucker for B&W but I love this in color as it’s so warm.

Very nice Adam. I’m going with the color version. There’s just something about the warm tones and textures that seem to work here in color.
that B&W is awesome work Adam
Thanks a bunch Chantal!! I think you would like today’s post as well!
This is just superb.
