Lago d’Averno Morning

Here is a quick one for today.  I woke up early this morning to walk around Lago d’Averno (Lake Avernus).  Having been here the past 2 years, I kept telling myself I would eventually get out there.  It was a beautiful morning, and I took tons of pictures.  Here is a shot from one of the docks just off the main running path.

Check back tomorrow!

Nice shot! The green reflection in the water from the hills in the back is pretty cool. Nicely framed too.

The Depth in the photo is amazing, the bowl of the crater (WOW)

I was wondering, since you were there very recently, is any part of the Lake off-limits, after having been seized by the police due to Gennaro Cardillo’s ties to Giuseppe Setola????? Or can anyone still go there and walk about?
From your blog that seems to be the case, which would be great. Also, what is left of the temple remains? I have friends who’d like to visit them, perhaps on their honeymoon. Thanks! Love, Li

Lianna, Currently, none of the lake was off limits. The temple ruins are still standing, but access is restricted by a fence surrounding it. Additionally, cybils cave was locked when I went, but I believe can still be entered on the right day.
